International Center for Training







ICTC established in 1980 according to an agreement signed between Cotton Arbitration & Testing General Organization (CATGO) and both of United Nation Development Program (UNDP) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on 7th June 1978.

* The unique training center in the Middle East, it plays an important role in creating a qualified staff of classers and experts in Egyptian cotton sector and foreign comers from cotton growing and industrial countries.

* The Training programs of ICTC include the theoretical and practical training in the scope of Classification, Marketing, Ginning, Fiber Testing, Moisture determination, Insurance and all other subjects covering cotton Industry, beginning from raw material till end product.

* Training programs are conducted by professors from universities; research centers staff and CATGO’s specialists.

* Training Courses are accomplished through CATGO’s training labs.

* In addition to field trips to Marketing points, Ginneries, Pressing mills, Spinning &Weaving companies and different technical locations belong to CATGO.

* ICTC organizes conferences and forums discussing different cotton issues.









* A group of university professors and heads of boards of directors and heads of sectors and the general managers cotton companies

1- The Training Program of "Cotton Classification & Ginning and Fiber Testing"



In 3rd June 2017, The Annual Program held in International Cotton Training Center (ICTC) at Smouha, Alexandria – Egypt for "13" trainees for group of Africa, Asia and Latin America from different segments of industry includes university professors, Researches, breeders, ginners, traders, spinners and government officers from different countries.

The program is designed to provide a basic education in all aspects related to cotton industry, an extensive field – to- fabric course, with practical training on manual classing and the use of HVI and its data, cotton handling stages, marketing, processing, manufacturing technologies.
